I was always struck by the fact that Rabid was structured as a love story. They are seperated at the beginning and spend the rest of the film devoting themselves to getting back together again... which they achieve, in spite of the "horror" and horrible consquences.

Very powerful emotionally, and MC was able to sell it.

Imagine if Cronenberg was able to get censorship to let him put that vampiric needle between her legs as he first intended instead of in her armpit!

Thanks Roger for the very perceptive and thoughtful comments. Brings an often overlooked perspective to the film and I loved reading them...
