Why The Seventies?

I have been obsessed with the seventies for as long as I can remember. Part of it stems, of course, from the fact that I was born in the seventies and aren't we all a little nostalgic for where we came from?

Harry Moseby Confidential has been set up to give me kind of an oasis from the real world. I will be posting some revised seventies related articles from my main blog, Moon In The Gutter, and will be bringing readers some of my favorite photos, clips and memories from the seventies.

So who is Harry Moseby and why did I name my blog after his private investigation firm? Well, in a decade featuring such bonafide classics as The Godfather, Taxi Driver and The Last Picture Show, no film rates higher in my book than Arthur Penn's monumental Night Moves starring Gene Hackman. In the film Hackman plays a disillusioned and disappointed private eye named Harry Moseby and this blog's name is a tribute to that great character.

So sit back and enjoy revisiting my favorite decade with me where everything goes, just so long as it is related to the seventies.

I think this blog is a cool idea. I was born in December of 1970, so I grew up in the 70's. I love this decade. I think it's a great name for a blog. Gene Hackman is an amazing actor. I've enjoyed his work since I first remember seeing him as a kid. I think it was actually Superman that I first saw. Then I came across Bonnie & Clyde. Good luck with the new blog.
